a taxi and trailed the victim, who had closed from work from the Kotoka International Airport, to her residence at Dzorwulu at 11:00p.m. on February 2, 2015. Immediately the victim got to the entrance of her house, he said, Tetteh, Debrah and Martey attacked her with machetes, pushed her to the ground and made away with her Kia Rio vehicle and handbag.
Mr Yohuno said the suspects later abandoned the vehicle at Accra New Town, which was later found by a police patrol team. Further investigations, according to the police, showed that Debrah hired the taxi which was used to trail the victim. Through intelligence network, Mr Yohuno said, Asiamah was traced and arrested. He said Asiamah admitted to the offence and claimed that he bought the phone at GHS1,700. He later led the police to the hideouts of the attackers, who were arrested. Mr Yohuno added that Tetteh revealed that he used part of his money to purchase an Opel Astra taxi. He said two machetes, a mobile phone and Won 10,000 (Korean currency) were retrieved from the suspects. |
