Source: adomonline.com - Jehovah’s Witnesses throughout the country will this weekend begin their annual conventions for 2015, focusing on the need for all Christians to imitate Jesus Christ, especially when the world is experiencing numerous challenges A convention spokesman, Obed Owusu-Kissi, stressing the importance of focusing on Jesus, says the world is looking for answers to life’s most pressing questions; those answers can only be provided through Jesus Christ.
According to him, Jesus Christ is the founder of Christianity and also widely considered as one of the most influential and significant men who ever lived therefore the need to imitate the “Great man who ever lived”. Mr. Owusu-Kissi emphasized that this is the core belief of Jehovah’s Witnesses adding that Jesus’ life is a model for us to follow. The convention will examine Jesus’ life, as outlined in the Bible, and emphasize how all—regardless of their background, lifestyle, or religion, all can benefit in many practical from his example and teachings. A highlight of the program will be the keynote address on Friday morning, entitled “Concealed in Him Are All the Treasures of Wisdom.” The convention starts this weekend at Batsonaa, Spintex and continues for the next 18 weeks. Jehovah’s Witnesses extend personal invitations to everyone from Accra, Tema, and surrounding areas to attend the convention or any of the 538 congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses and 8million members attending the conventions around the world. The 13 three-day conventions in nine (9) languages, including sign language is free. |
