Source: GhanaWeb-News.com - A task-force from the Accra Metropolitan Assembly, with support from police and other security services, has demolished parts of Sodom and Gomorrah, Accra’s biggest slum area of the capital city of Ghana.
Accra Metropolitan Assembly is reacting to the flooding and fire disaster of June 3rd, which claimed the life of 159 people, included young children and babies.
The disaster once again, is a reminder to the open question of the enforcement of building regulations, by city authorities and Ghana as whole.
Especially Accra and Greater Accra is experiencing yearly returning flooding, due heavy rain and inadequate water way systems. The June 3rd disaster was the largest, so far, in history of Ghana.
