He said some residents of the area who rushed to the rescue of the deceased, disconnected the electricity and rushed him to the Oda Government Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
According to the Divisional Police Commander, the body of Aboagye has been deposited at the morgue of the same hospital awaiting autopsy.
He said the police were investigating the cause of death of Aboagye while the Ghana National Fire Service was also investigating the cause of the fire.
The items destroyed in the tailoring shop included sewing machines, electric fans, assorted textiles and suiting materials.
