Doctors’ NO strike: List of fully working hospitals to access health care

The Ministry of Health has named a number of medical facilities where the general public can seek health care as the Ghana Medical Association (GMA) continues with its strike.

The GMA has been on strike for more than two weeks, demanding their condition of service, which has never existed since the Ghana Health Service was established in 1996.

According to a statement from the Ministry, the listed hospitals are quasi government health institutions that are not on strike.

The facilities are follow:

• University of Ghana Hospital, Legon, 
  
• Atomic Energy Commission Clinic, Kwabenya, 
  
• Airport Clinic, Airport.
  
• 37 Military Hospital, 
  
• 37, Police Hospital, Cantonment, 
  
• VRA Hospitals, Osu 
  
• Akosombo and Aboadzie, 
  
• Bank of Ghana Clinic, Ridge, 
  
• GBC Clinic Kanda.
  

The others are;
 

• SIC Clinics Tudu, 
  
• Ghana Post Clinic James Town, 
  
• Cocoa Clinics Kaneshie, Kumasi and Debiso, 
  
• Ghana Commercial Bank Clinic Kantamanto, Graphic Clinic Adabraka, 
  
• University of Ghana Medical School Clinic Korle Bu, 
  
• Kwame Nkrumah University Hospital Kumasi, 
  
• Cape Coast Hospital Cape Coast, 
  
• University of Development Studies Clinic Tamale, 
  
• University of Development Studies Clinic Wa.
  

The statement further mentioned the following facilities which are opened to the general public. 

• Anglogold Ashanti Hospital Obuasi, 
  
• Ghana Port and Harbour Authority Hospital/Clinic Tema and Takoradi, 
  
• Valco Hospital Tema, 
  
• Ghana Bauxite Hospital Awaso, 
  
• Bui Dam Clinic Brong Ahafo, 
  
• Ghana Consolidated Diamond Clinic Akwatia, 
  
• SSNIT Hospitals Osu, Adenta, Madina, Tema, Dansoman.
  

The statement finally advised the public “to desist from adopting self-medication.”
