Source: citifmonline.com - Fourteen (14) persons have been rescued under the rubble of a three storey building which collapsed in Cantonments in Accra on Saturday afternoon.
One person believed to be the owner of the building is dead.
Some of the workers and eye witnesses have so far attributed the collapse of the building to weak pillars that they say gave in to the weight of the building.
Citi News’ Pearl Akanya Ofori reported that personnel from the Ghana Police Service, NADMO, Ambulance service, Armed Forces and crime team from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) are currently at the site.
Meanwhile, the Cantonment District Police Commander, Superintendent Mrs Brown in an interview with Citi News pleaded for water for the rescue team since the rescue mission could go deep into the night.
